What is it with everyone suddenly going barefoot just because Cody Lundin does it? (Read all of this please.)?

I didnt realize there was a whole secret society of naturalist outdoorsmen. Anyway, it very well could be a bandwagon effect or it just be that going barefoot was something that they always would have done, but never had the idea.
