Will I get judged because of this?

I have a step daughter and I just say my daughter or my husbands daughter when I introduce her. People ume she is mine anyway (My husband has a "type", short, curvy women with flat faces, LOL). I hate when I complement some one on a beautiful child and they say, "oh, it's just my step-kid" I want to slap their faces!! If they truly loved their spouse, they would love their kids because they are a part of them!! Don't waste your time worrying about what people think of you, most of them are jug heads anyway!! Worry about your family and that is enough!!
