How do you deal with mean and jerky dad in law?

Mine is a arranged marriage, we had usual domestic quarrels which every family has, i might have yelled at my dad inlaw on phone initially, which he might have not liked, since then he keeps telling his daughter to leave me , he has been a real thorn, i have'nt met him after marriage, coz i was stuck at work, its been four years, he has hurt me badly by trying to break our relationship when we had the biggest incident of our life, in which she wrote bad bad things abt me on his egging which is haunting me forever, after that i somehow managed to keep our relationship going, the real issue besides the yelling, crying, complaining, whining(she is 25) is she is jobless becoz of visa restrictions not allowing dependent visa holders to work in usa, so she keeps policing me and telling me wt should i do and wt should i not, like i could'nt buy something on the way from office, coz im supposed to take her whereever i go . We dont have kids, she aborted twice, now planning to take medicine .
